The original location of the popular Persian restaurant Rumi’s Kitchen in Sandy Springs, will soon get a makeover. It’s not just that the restaurant space will be getting renovated, but the menu will be revamped as well. The significant transformation that will happen this spring will mark the beginning of a new era in the restaurant’s story.

The restaurant will have its last service on March 23, after which it will undergo the renovations. It will reopen for customers, with the brand new look and the refreshed menu, this summer. All the other locations of the restaurant will continue to be in operation.

The new look at Rumi’s Kitchen at Sandy Springs will include a whole lot of new features. The Johnson Studio at Cooper Carry was the team that designed the original location and they will be reimagining the space this time around. From the furniture to the kitchen equipment, everything at the restaurant will be updated.

The new design for the space will include aged plaster walls and bespoke light fixtures. It will also get new flooring, a combination of porcelain and hardwood. Floor-to-ceiling murals and glass conservatory roofs will also highlight the renovated space. Other features will include custom armchairs and marble inlay tables.

A Fresh and Delicious Menu Coming Soon

Chef Ali Mesghali and his culinary team are curating a new menu for Rumi’s Sandy Springs, that will be served after the reopening. The flavors offered in the menu will be taken beyond the traditional Persian classics with the addition of modern Middle Eastern flavors.

The new menu will include dishes like Labne Charred Tomato, Lamb Ribs, Pomegranate Short Rib and Wagyu Zabuton Kabob. Moreover, the restaurant location at Sandy Springs will follow the Colony Square location to offer weekend brunch.

Dishes like Za’atar Biscuits & Gravy, Turkish Eggs and Shakshuka will be served as part of the brunch menu. As for the drinks offering, the cocktail menu will see new Persian-influenced classic cocktails along with Rumi’s favorites. 

The wine menu offering will continue to be curated by Stephen Kaplan, COO + Wine Director for Rumi’s. Wines from organic and biodynamic producers from major wine-growing regions around the world will be offered. An expanded selection of wines from Israel, Turkey, Lebanon, Armenia, Georgia and more will be incorporated. The restaurant will be the home to one of the largest Chateau Musar vertical collections in the country.

Rumi’s Kitchen in Sandy Springs has a history that goes back 20 years and has expanded to four other locations in those years. Beloved to Atlanta, the revitalized restaurant is expected to bring new and improved flavors and dining experiences to its guests.
