Rreal Tacos on July 1, 2022 opened in West Midtown’s ARIUM Westside, at 1000 Northside Drive NW, replacing Dos Amigos.
The new location — the second for the brand joining its OG Midtown outpost — is only one of many more on the horizon, Co-Owner Damian Otero tells What Now Atlanta.
Next up for Rreal Tacos will be an outpost in Chamblee, at 5070 Peachtree Blvd., and in early 2023, a location will surface in Buckhead. Otero and Co-Owner Miguel Hernandez are looking at 3350 Peachtree Road NE but a lease has not yet been secured.
In late 2023, Rreal Tacos plans to operate at least one additional location in either Alpharetta, Sandy Springs, or Dunwoody, or maybe all three “if we get deals, which are hard to come by these days,” Otero said. “We’re keeping our doors open.”
Otero said all of the new locations will offer the authentic tacos seen at the restaurant’s original Midtown outpost including al pastor, beef barbacoa, birria barbacoa, grilled fish and veggie, alognside other mainstays like its tortas and burritos. “We’re constantly improving our recipes but we like to keep things as authentic as possible,” Otero said.
Rreal Tacos’s namesake Adrian Villarreal debuted the restaurant in 2015, at 100 6th St NE #110, and in 2021 sold the brand to Otero and Hernandez who also co-own the Cafe at Pharr Vinings. Separately, Otero is behind Sabores Del Plata in Norcross.
“Hopefully Atlanta is rooting for us,” Otero said. “There’s nothing more that we love than this city.”
Come 2025, Rreal Tacos will expand out of the state. “A lot of cities are missing this concept; authentic tacos, the kind you can find only in a hole in the wall typically, or in a food truck outside of a gas station,” Otero said. “Authentic tacos with great vibes and great latin music in an upscale place and upscale Tulum-style cocktails.”
First up will be the sunshine state. “We want to f*ck up Florida and make some noise there,” Otero said. “We’re not going to the west coast or Texas because while they don’t have Rreal tacos there, they have similar concepts.”

5070 Peachtree Industrial Blvd is Norcross, not Chamblee.
He probably means 5070 Peachtree Blvd. Chamblee renamed their section of Peachtree Industrial to just Peachtree Blvd. many, many years ago, but still no one can get it right. Apparently not even the “news” like this website supposedly is. So instead the map misdirects you to Norcross.
