Construction plans posted online call for the existing drive-through restaurant at 8753 Roswell Road to be converted into a Chipotle. It’s located at the Dunwoody Place shopping center that’s anchored by a Publix grocery store. Tomorrow’s News Today also reported on the plans.
The project would modify the freestanding building and add a patio area, remaking the space into a roughly 2,500-square-foot Chipotle.
There are currently 91 Chipotle locations in Georgia, according to the company’s website. That includes one restaurant in Sandy Springs and one in Dunwoody.
A big part of the company’s growth plan is opening restaurants with Chipotlanes, its digital order pick-up lane.
In November, Chipotle announced it had opened its 500th restaurant with a Chipotlane in Louisville, Ky.
“Chipotlanes are the digital drive thru of the future and a key piece of our growth strategy as we plan to more than double our restaurant count over the long term to achieve 7,000 restaurants or more in North America,” Tabassum Zalotrawala, chief development officer, said in a press release.

I think it is going in where another Mexican place was right at the corner of Peachtree and 11th. There is already some work being done in the space…
hi Shannon! The Mi Cocina space is going to be a Sugar Factory > https://whatnowatlanta.com/sugar-factory-midtown-update/ ~ Caleb
Sugar Factory is already renovating the Mi Cocina space. Can’t wait for it to open!
Panera would be stupid to close this location. Lunchtime is constantly busy! If the Chipotle does happen, that would be a quick Mexican option in the neighborhood.
This is going in part of the former CB2 space which has been divided.
Maybe it’s going in underneath the Piedmont office. It’s only occupying the second floor.
The permits were incorrectly filed. It’s going in the CB2 space. Panera isn’t leaving.
