“We’re originally from Alabama,” Platt tells What Now Atlanta. “So I wanted to bring a model where students like my daughter can have food that’s similar to what they’re accustomed to at home.”

Rosie’s Coffee Cafe, which is owned and operated by Platt Restaurant Group, serves Southern-inspired breakfast and brunch classics alongside their signature coffee. They have one location in Carollton, and two more in Atlanta where they serve a range of cooked-to-order meals.

The Black-owned southern breakfast and brunch coffee house has gained fame for attracting celebrities like NBA star Kevin Garnett. Named after the owner’s mother, Rosie Gail, the restaurant continues on its mission to “redefine the Atlanta neighborhood coffee shop.”

The new construction will be inside of Roosevelt Hall and serve a similar menu of all-day breakfast, sweet treats, and coffee.

“We’re known for our southern hospitality and great service,” says Platt. “Customers will come in two to three times a week, and they love our service.”
