Inspired by the resort locations of Mykonos, Monaco, and the Amalfi coast, Slater Hospitality’s 21+ rooftop experience, Rooftop L.O.A. (Leave of Absence), will open its 38,000 square-foot doors in April 2022, according to a press release this week. It will be housed in The Interlock.

Currently, under the final phase of construction, Rooftop L.O.A. will offer three distinct offerings all on one rooftop: an 8,000 square-foot coastal-European full-service restaurant, a 1,200 square-foot resort-style pool, complete with an indoor pool bar and lounge with showers and locker room, and an outdoor “gardenesque gathering Grove.”

“Rooftop L.O.A. is a dream come true for our team as it is like nothing Atlanta has ever seen before,” Mandy Slater, Slater Hospitality founder and CCO, said in the release. “We can’t wait to deliver this to our hometown to experience!”

Designed by ASD|SKY, the rooftop will also boast an event pavilion adjacent to the Grove that can host up to 150 guests. The restaurant will have a private dining room and chef’s table, and there will be private cabanas at the pool.

Slater Hospitality is no stranger to larger-than-life rooftop experiences. The company operates Rooftop at Ponce City Market and is developing another venue for the Mitchell/South Downtown projects expected to open in late 2022, 2023.

“As with the guest experience, the team and their experience are personally curated,” Eric DiNardo, L.O.A.’s director of operations, said. “It will be completely unique to the Atlanta market with a fun and respected work environment, aggressive compensation, development and growth opportunities, relationship building with guests, and more. Slater Hospitality has a stellar retention rate, so we’re thrilled to grow our team and find the best talent the hospitality industry has to offer.”

With opening right around the corner, hiring is underway with a “Hiring Event” scheduled for Feb. 21, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at The Interlock. Interested parties can register online here.

  1. I like the interior look and the rendering looks great…if only a single one of the trees in the rendering was actually there in real life! And based on the reality of the sidewalk size and how the current exterior is wrapping up with zero trees planted, I feel confident predicting none of them are in the actual plans.

    1. I must take back my comment. They planted a few trees within the last week and I just did not notice on my daily commute.
