Slater Hospitality's multi-level venue includes The Parlour, The Roebuck Room, and a surprise space on the 12th floor.

Slater Hospitality, owners and operators of Ponce City Market’s Skyline Park, Nine Mile Station and Rooftop Terrace, have completed construction of the next phase of the Old Fourth Ward redevelopment’s tower with the opening of RFD Social.

The multi-level venue features The Parlour, Roebuck Room and a “surprise space” on the 12th floor, and is now open to the public.

“Resurrecting the Golden Era of Ponce de Leon Avenue for the revitalization of RFD Social, Slater Hospitality pays homage to the origins of the Tower’s Dinner Bell R.F.D. (Radio Farmer’s Democracy) radio broadcast in the name of the space,” according to a press release Monday

The broadcast, hosted by Dewey Burnett, aired from the 11th floor with programming featuring farming and homemaking advice and performances by local musicians such as John Carson and the Wompus Cats.

Last fall, Slater Hospitality began construction of the tower to revive the Atlanta landmark into a modern space for socializing on a casual evening or hosting a variety of private events.

Design team ASD | SKY created the venue’s three defined spaces:

The Parlour

When guests arrive at the 10th-floor lobby from the building’s original freight elevator, they will be welcomed into The Parlour, an energized space reminiscent of a 1920s speakeasy. Incorporating rich fabrics, bistro-style tables and wall fixtures such as old-fashioned radios, the bar and lounge is bound to become Atlanta’s go-to happy hour spot. In true speakeasy form, the bar will offer specialty cocktail and a selection of wines and local beers.

The Roebuck Room

The 11th floor has been transformed into the Roebuck Room, a 3,970 square foot space for private events overlooking Skyline Park, Nine Mile Station and the Atlanta skyline. Equipped with the latest technology, the space houses both small and large conference rooms, as well as a much larger event space that offers a truly unique view and vibe for events large and small. Eclectic European furnishings and custom herringbone wood floors add the perfect finishing touches to the space originally used for broadcasting.

Setting the stage for festivities to come, Slater Hospitality is partnering with The Bitter Southerner and local band, Quiet Hounds, to host “The Revival of RFD Social,” an evening that will celebrate the Tower’s heritage on Thursday, July 12.

Guests can expect an evening of music, theatrical performances showcasing the history bites from Nine Mile Station’s executive chef Jonathan McDowell and inspired cocktails from beverage director Randy Hayden.
