“We are super excited,” Co-Founder of Zero Mile Company Alan Sher said.

After the success of Terminal West, in 887 West Marietta St NW C, Sher said that despite all of the challenges of 2020 the new project, The Eastern, is something he is still very much looking forward to .

“It’s obviously been a crazy time for our company and trying to open a venue,” he explained.

While Sher said more details about the venue will be released as it moves further along he did admit he was very excited about getting to this stage. The Eastern, referred to as a convention center type venue in the applications, will include seating of up to 2,200.

In applications filed with the city, The Eastern has been proposed to include a basement, ground level, lower tier and rooftop patio. It will be located at 800 Old Flat Shoals Road SE inside the Atlanta Dairies development at 777 Memorial Dr., according to the applications.

With venues including the Georgia Theatre, Terminal West and Variety Playhouse, Alan Sher and Scott Orvold started Zero Mile several years ago.

Sher and Orvold felt Reynoldstown was a great upcoming neighborhood for the new business to grow in.

“We think being in such an awesome growing neighborhood is exciting,” he said. “We saw a cool thing happen with Terminal West on the westside. It opened in 2012 and the neighborhood was in the middle of some awesome growth.”

He felt having Terminal West, on the west side of the city, and The Eastern, on the east, will be great for the city.

“We’re like five or six years into planning and design at this point,” he added.

  1. Weird this is written as if the ENTIRE building hasn’t been built out already and a sign hung on the exterior. This thing is finished, even if not ready to host anyone yet.
