The project, connected by ATL SkyTrain to the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, is slated to open April 2017.

“The new Renaissance Atlanta Airport Gateway Hotel design, layered with wit and personality, is indigenous to Atlanta and will serve as an authentic contemporary southern experience that will surprise, delight and intrigue guests, allowing them to relax and be entertained in style,” Lauren Rottet, president of Rottet Studio, the company behind the hotel’s design, said in the announcement.

“The bold new design signatures we incorporated into the hotel lives up to the brand’s values—independent, intriguing and indigenous. By creating authentic community-driven experiences, Renaissance Hotels will resonate deeply with locals and hotel guests.”

The property would include 6,500-square-feet of meeting and event space including a 3,345-square-foot ballroom.

Developed by AVR Realty Company, LLC and Grove Street Partners, the hotel is centrally located in the Gateway complex, joining Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway and SpringHill Suites Atlanta Airport Gateway.

With free access to the ATL SkyTrain, guests will be a two-minute ride to the lobby of the Atlanta airport and will be across the street from the Georgia International Convention Center.

Developers first began construction on the hotel October 2015.
