After months of rumors and speculation, What Now Atlanta (WNA) can confirm Michael Lennox, the first-time restauranteur behind the incredibly successful Ladybird Grove and Mess Hall on the Beltline, is planning a second concept.

Official plans Friday were filed with City of Atlanta to buildout a “classic american restaurant” called Golden Eagle, in space previously occupied by H. Harper Station, at 904 Memorial Drive SE.

Lennox is listed on the plans as the project’s “owner.”

An estimated $175,000 could be spent converting the 4,316-square-foot space – which was a train station in a former life –  into Golden Eagle, according to the city documents.

The funds would cover items like renovating the interior and exterior of H. Harper Station, re-striping the parking lot, and landscaping.

A URL for Golden Eagle has been registered through GoDaddy but has a generic landing page for the domain registrar as of Saturday morning.

There’s also a Golden Eagle Facebook page and an Instagram account, both of which lack a lick of information aside from the address and restaurant category of “Classic American Restaurant.”

Lennox did not immediately return WNA’s request for comment.

  1. Hopefully they’ll get rid of that galley-style seating. That’s what killed Harper for me. I could never have a private/personal dinner because strangers were inches away on both sides. And/or someone always had their back to the room, which is just very uncomfortable.
