Expansive warehouse to be converted into The District in Armour Yards.

The warehouse at 269 Armour Drive NE in the Armour Yards district will be converted into a bar called The District, according to plans filed with the City of Atlanta Tuesday.

The bar and lounge, located directly across the street from SweetWater Brewing Company, will attempt to maintain its warehouse-style feel and ambience as it makes alterations ahead of opening.

An outdoor seating area will also be added on the street-facing side. Renovations on the 11,743-square-foot space will cost an estimated $205,000.

We’re still trying to track down a timetable for the estimated opening date and will update with that information as soon as it becomes available.

Representatives of The District did not immediately respond to inquiries seeking comment.

Check out the renderings below of the outdoor seating area and entrance to The District.

Do you think the Armour Yards warehouse district will attract enough patrons to support both The District and SweetWater Brewing Company? Let us know what you think in the comments section below!

  1. IMO, more residential/mixed use units are needed on Armour Drive. That area is in the middle of everything, Buckhead and Midtown and could have a great nightlife if more people lived on Armour and didn’t have to drive.
