Planned in 2019 following the Charlotte-based developer’s acquisition of the property, the renovation will include improvements to the retail center’s connection point with the BeltLine. A new breezeway will connect the BeltLine to Monroe Drive, while a new plaza will be added to provide an entrance from the BeltLine with bicycle parking and seating areas, plans show.

On Thursday, a permit was filed for construction of the new Midtown Promenade breezeway, listing a cost of construction of $290,000.

The applicant for the renovation project is listed as ASD | SKY, a national design firm with an office in Atlanta.

Also included in the approved plans is a renovation of the facade of the 35,800-square-foot Trader Joe’s building.
