The duo’s concept, Kaiser’s Chop House, would debut spring 2017 in Sandy Springs, serving “quality cuts of meats, superior ingredients and a boutique wine and cocktail program,” the restaurant Wednesday announced in a press release.

Kaiser’s Chop House would be situated in the Hammond Springs shopping center, at 5975 Roswell Road, joining restaurants Flying Biscuit Café and Boardwalk Burger.

Designed by The Johnson Studio at Cooper Carry, Kaiser’s Chop House would offer a “modern, chic interior” including a custom-built walnut bookshelf that divides the bar from the dining room, and “large, oversized chairs.”

“The floor to ceiling wine cellar is made entirely of glass, making it a functional, sleek and distinguished addition to the restaurant,” according to the announcement.

“Spherical chandeliers dimly light the dining room with a classic ambiance, and wooden tables and booths fill the space.”

Kaiser’s Chop House would also offer a “semi-private dining room” that seats up to 30 guests.

Kaiser has been part of the Atlanta dining scene for over 30 years after moving to Atlanta in 1986, according to the chef’s online bio, working for Paul Albrecht and Pano Karatassos of Buckhead Life Group, and Tom Catherall of Here to Serve Restaurant Group.

[Editor’s Note: An earlier version of this article indicated that Sandy Springs Thai, Ship & Anchor Pub, and Café Sunflower were in the Hammond Springs shopping center, based on the latest data provided by the center. That information has been updated after receiving updated information from the developer.]

  1. Just as a point of clarification, the Boardwalk Burgers is long gone from this center. It was replaced with what appears to be a fairly successful Cheeseburger Bobby’s.
Kaiser’s Chop House will be a welcome addition here as Sandy Springs begins to layer on more chef driven quality eating establishments.

  2. Boardwalk Burger has not been open in that location for over 2 years. Cheeseburger Bobby’s is in that center next to Flying Biscuit. Can you please print a correction for the benefit of our client. Thanks.

Love your posts….read them all the time.

  3. This location has been a loser for years. Sushi place was there, and failed within 6 months. Prior to that, it was a Jason’s deli that could not make it. Parking is tough, and rumor has it that this new place has gotten the landlord to allow valet, thus taking spaces from the other restaurants next door, such as Pinocchio’s Italian, the popular new ramen restaurant, the Thai, restaurant, the Kingston Jamaica restaurant, and the Indian restaurant– all successful.

I give this place one year. It will not do the sales it expects.
