Greystar Real Estate Partners, Concord Hospitality Enterprises Company and Whitman Peterson broke ground on its Canopy by Hilton Atlanta Midtown project, the hotel in a press release early last week announced.

The project, featuring Hilton’s new hotel brand Canopy, is scheduled to open summer 2018.

Canopy by Hilton at 1414 West Peachtree Street would be a 176-room hotel with four suites and 3,000-square-feet of meeting space with an adjacent board room and elevated outdoor terrace. The rooms would include wood flooring, walk-in tile showers and local art.

“Canopy by Hilton fits seamlessly into Atlanta’s Midtown District,” Gary Steffen, global head, Canopy by Hilton, said in the release.

“Known by locals as the ‘Heart of the Arts’, Midtown Atlanta mirrors our Canopy brand ethos. With its booming arts and entertainment scene and Piedmont Park in its back yard, the Canopy by Hilton Atlanta Midtown property will offer guests a truly fresh and local Atlanta experience.”

Following its “brand pillars,” Canopy by Hilton Atlanta Midtown would be inspired and influenced by its local surroundings, and will be a natural extension of the neighborhood, according to the release.

“Guests can expect a thoughtfully curated local food and beverage menu that will highlight Atlanta’s exceptional cuisine as well as an artisanal breakfast and Wi-Fi to be included in the room rate.”

Canopy by Hilton is part of a larger mixed-use project in conjunction with Greystar’s Ascent Midtown residences, a 328-unit multifamily tower set to open summer 2018.
