Rena’s Italian Fishery & Grill is coming to Medley, an upcoming 43-acre mixed-use development in Johns Creek.

Rena’s first opened in downtown Alpharetta in 2021. The founder and executive chef is Darren Henderson, a longtime hospitality professional and the owner of another Alpharetta restaurant called Crust Pasta and Pizzeria.

Rena’s Italian Fishery & Grill is named for Henderson’s wife, Rena. It is designed to be a warm neighborhood meeting place, serving traditional Italian cuisine along with beloved family recipes.

The restaurant is one of several tenants recently announced for Medley. Sephora, High Country Outfitters, BODYROK and Petfolk are also expected to open at the development, joining a wide lineup of previously announced restaurant and retail tenants, including CRÚ Food & Wine Bar, Summit Coffee, Lily Sushi Bar, Knuckies Hoagies, 26 Thai Kitchen and Bar, Five Daughters Bakery and many more.

The project is almost 75 percent leased, according to the most recent announcement. Medley is expected to break ground in January 2025, with a grand opening planned for late 2026. A 350,000-square-foot office building at the site has already been razed to prepare the site for construction.

In total, Medley is slated to include 150,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and entertainment space; a 175-key boutique hotel; 110,000 square feet of lifestyle office space; 750 multifamily residences; 133 townhomes; and a 25,000-square-foot plaza.

Toro Development Company, the team behind the development, recently announced it secured financing for the project.

“With Medley, we are not building buildings, we are building a community,” TDC’s Chief Vision Officer Mark Toro said in a statement. “To do it right, we know every detail matters, and we are hand selecting retail experiences that create a highly energized destination for Johns Creek.”
