A new footwear store specializing in boots made for working is coming to Kennesaw.
Red Wing Shoes is planned for 440 Ernest W Barrett Parkway NW, according to construction documents.
Two existing tenant spaces (suites 33 and 34) are expected to be combined into one for the shoe store. The space would include a 995-square-foot showroom and a 1,266-square-foot stockroom, according to the construction plans.
Red Wing Shoe Company was established in 1905 to help provide workers in industries like mining, farming and logging with durable and comfortable footwear.
Still based in Red Wing, Minnesota, the company’s products have been distributed in more than 110 countries and in more than 4,000 retail locations in the U.S. The brand offers work boots and athletic shoes for both men and women, along with accessories and leather goods like wallets, belts, slippers and gloves.
The company had plans in 2023 to hit the ground running to open significantly more brick-and-mortar stores over the next five years, American Builders Quarterly reported.
Red Wing Shoes currently has 11 locations in Georgia, including in Smyrna, Roswell, Duluth, Woodstock, Gainesville, McDonough, Conyers, Pooler, Macon, Morrow and Augusta.
Officials from Red Wing Shoes could not be immediately reached for more information about the planned Kennesaw store.
