Red Hare Brewing Company to Replace Recently-Shuttered Hemingway’s in Marietta Square

Hemingway's has occupied the space since 1993.

Space housing Hemingway’s Bar & Grill, which closed for good earlier this week, won’t sit dark long. Red Hare Brewing Company is stepping in to take the longtime Marietta bar’s place, at 29 W. Park Square, according to the Marietta Daily Journal [paywall]. Hemingway’s has occupied the space since 1993.

Now comes Red Hare opening what will be its third location, joining an existing taproom in Marietta on Delk Industrial Boulevard and an outpost in North Carolina. There are about five miles of road between the two storefronts and the new Marietta outpost will act as a restaurant and event space, and offer a retail component, according to Co-Owner Roger Davis.

While Red Hare doesn’t nearly have the kind of history that Hemingway’s carried, the company is approaching its tenth year in business. Hemingway’s was also a customer of Red Hare’s, having served the Marietta-based brewery’s beer on tap.

An opening timeline for the new Marietta Red Hare has not yet been revealed.
