Mychel “Snoop” Dillard, owner of The Hookah Hideaway, is partnering with Atlanta-native rapper 2 Chainz to open Escobar Lounge at 327 Peters Street SW in Castleberry Hill.

“We want [Escobar Lounge] to be one of the top spots for the upscale and celebrity crowd in the city,” Giselle Warren, a company spokesperson, told What Now Atlanta (WNA) in a telephone conversation Tuesday.

Escobar is the first restaurant venture for 2 Chainz, according to Warren.

“2 Chainz has been looking to get into the restaurant industry for a while now, and this is an opportunity to do something unique.”

A building permit application was filed with City of Atlanta in August for commercial alterations to the Castleberry Hill space for the the forthcoming restaurant and lounge.

Escobar Lounge is expected to open its doors by November.

In related news, Atlanta-native rapper T.I. opened his first restaurant — Scales 925 — this year downtown in space formerly occupied by FAB.

  1. Pretty insensitive name considering it’s named after one of the most notorious gangster/terrorist in history that murdered thousands, blew up buildings and an airliner.

  2. Sensitivity is the last thing this idiot is concerned with. Idolization of violent criminal enterprise is the culture he’s selling and there will be plenty of mental midgets with lots of money lining up to be seen by similarly inclined imbeciles. “We want [Escobar Lounge] to be one of the top spots for the upscale and celebrity crowd in the city,” What a joke. This city is rapidly turning into one of the worst S#%t Holes in the country and stuff like this is at the tip of the spear. Utterly tasteless and devoid of one single iota of dignity or class. Yay Atlanta.
