It looks like Arizona-based Upward Projects is opening not one but two Postino Wine Bar and Cafe locations in Atlanta this year. The restaurant chain this week filed plans with the City of Atlanta to open in West Midtown, at 1000 Marietta Street Unit 310 in the Brickworks development which is owned by Charlotte-based Asana Partners.

Construction is estimated at $800,000 to remodel the former tenant space which belonged to Earl’s Bike Shop and an exterior patio “fit-out.” Earl’s occupied the corner space for three years, according to its Facebook page, before relocating across the street at the end of 2021.

“We’re excited to announce that starting this weekend, we’ll be moving across the street,” Earl’s announced on Facebook in late 2021. “We’ve been working hard to design and build (with the help of an additional designer or two and a few contractors) our new space to better fit our vision for the business and what we want to offer our customers.”

Postino, which, according to its website currently operates 18 locations across three states, is “an industrial winecafé offering unique wines and simply scrumptious food.” The city’s first location is slated to open in Buckhead, but the timeline is unclear. Upward Projects Co-CEO Lauren Bailey on Friday did not immediately respond to What Now Atlanta’s request for comment.

“Postino is fueled by a collection of individuals passionate about creating a space for people to connect,” according to the company’s website. “Our restaurants are an ode to our communities — providing familiar yet inspired surroundings, wine appropriate for both the most casual and sacred of gatherings, and a menu that satisfies all your cravings. Our mission is to make every moment that we’re a part of, one that leaves people feeling crazy-good.”

Upward Projects has five hospitality concepts in its repertoire: Joyride Taco House, Federal Pizza, Churn, Windsor, and Postino.
