International Restaurant Management Group (IRMG), a franchise operator and franchisor with more than 200 restaurants in 29 states and seven countries, will soon open two Atlanta Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen outposts with a third planned for Augusta, GA.
Locally, Lenox Square and Cumberland Mall will soon be home to the fried chicken franchise, IRMG President Tony Napoliello confirmed via email with What Now Atlanta Wednesday. The locations are expected to open August 29, 2022, and August 1, 2022, respectively, Napoliello said. “We are actively looking for more locations in Atlanta but nothing is executed to date.”
In Lenox Square, Popeyes will be situated in the mall’s food court between WOK Dragon and GW Gyro and Wings, according to a site map for the mall. While Cumberland Mall’s website does not pinpoint an exact location for the incoming Popeyes, it does list the eatery as “coming soon” alongside Great American Cookies, Culture, and Hollister/Gilly Kicks.
IRMG is also planning to open a Popeyes in the Augusta Mall. The Georgia locations are three of at least 26 Popeyes IRMG is planning on opening across the country, according to its website, including an outpost in Las Vegas’s Fashion Show Mall.
In addition to operating franchises such as Popeyes, IRMG is also the franchisor of many of its own concepts including Kelly’s Cajun Grill and Yeung’s Lotus Express.
“IRMG is one of the few quick service restaurant companies that successfully operate several brands,” the company writes on its website. “This has allowed the company to open co-branded units which allow for greater economies of scale while reducing operating costs and overhead.”
