The Japanese American eatery has signed a lease for a 1,500 square-foot space at 6600 Sugarloaf Pkwy, a rep confirmed.

The Duluth opening is a part of their continued expansion throughout the South, including locations in Auburn, Alabama, and Athens, Georgia. PONKO has seen exponential growth since it first began franchising in 2019. Currently, there are nine restaurants spread across the Atlanta area.

PONKO bills itself as “a unique spin on Japanese and American cuisine.” And its overall reception in Atlanta’s food scene has been exceptional. Their chicken is highly praised by foodies and critics. Atlanta Magazine christened PONKO salads as the city’s best in 2021.

Expect Ponko Chicken’s Duluth location to open in late fall.
