It will replace Mulavi, a newish Mediterranean eatery in the Alta Midtown apartment complex, at 915 West Peachtree Street NW Suite 6.

Mulavi quietly shuttered earlier this year.

Ponko Chicken Midtown is aiming for an April 2019 debut.

It will be a franchised-owned.

Shane Godfrey and Johnny Esposito are the franchisees.

In addition to the chicken strips its known for, the restaurant will serve sandwiches and salads, and its “Ponko plate” entrees served with sides including Japanese-style fries and potato salad, and sticky rice.

The restaurant is currently hiring for all positions, according to a Craigslist advertisement.

Interested candidates are invited to print an application and interview in person at the forthcoming Midtown location.

Ponko Chicken, known for its Asian-fusion breaded chicken strips, in 2017 opened in Chamblee after a nearly decade-long hiatus.

The restaurant’s founding owners Reiko Clark and Maggie Antoine closed down the original Stone Mountian outpost when the recession hit in 2008.

Clark and Antoine, sisters, are breathing new life into the brand as they continue franchising efforts.
