Jamestown Properties is moving forward with its $180 million Ponce City Market Project.

Spending those millions won’t be difficult.

The Atlanta-based real estate investment firm filed a permit with City of Atlanta late last week to begin demolition (Phase 1) to the 2-million-square foot City Hall East Building (the site of Ponce City Market) at an estimated cost of $3,500,00.00.

The city collected a cool $17,525.00 in permitting fees, something Jamestown paid out just to file the demolition permit (and is not included in the $3.5 million figure).

Phase 1 of Ponce City Market includes demoing interior “non-structural partitions,” repairs to brick shell and windows and a new roof, according to the permit.
