Parent company Fiesta Restaurant Group on December 21 shuttered all nine of its restaurants in the state, all of which were in the metro Atlanta-area.

The Florida-based fast-casual chain shuttered its stores as part of a “strategic renewal plan,” according to an announcement at the end of last year.

An additional 14 Poll Tropical locations were closed the same day across Florida and Texas for a total of 23.

Its possible Pollo Tropical could return to Atlanta in the future.

“We continue to be optimistic about the future of Pollo Tropical and Taco Cabana and are pleased with recent progress made on several growth initiatives that we believe should have a meaningful impact on our business,” Richard Stockinger, Fiesta’s CEO, said in the announcement.

  1. The food was not bad needed more side dishes And better management. My husband and I went to the on in McDonough Ga. When we place our order they told us that they had no chicken cooked we had to wait on hour How can a chicken place have no chicken cooked and it was only 2:00 in the afternoon The food is tasty similar my Inland Puerto Rico would like to see them back

  2. The food was delicious. I liked everything. The problem I had was with customer service and running out of so MUCH of their products all the time. It wasn’t unusual for me to drive up at 6pm or 7 pm and them be out of every main dish for dinner. That is the most busy time. How could you let yourself be out of your main product? I stopped going because of it.

  3. I am so upset!!!! I went to 3 different locations in Georgia and they were all always busy!!!! This makes no sense! This was a corporate business scam. The contractor made millions on the construction, and poof within a year corporate closes them!!!!!! This was a set up!!!!! Follow the money to the CEO!!!!!!
