Pollo Tropical Has Shuttered all Nine of Its Atlanta-Area Restaurants

Parent company Fiesta Restaurant Group closed down all of the market's locations at the end of 2018.

Pollo Tropical is no longer a thing in Georgia.

Parent company Fiesta Restaurant Group on December 21 shuttered all nine of its restaurants in the state, all of which were in the metro Atlanta-area.

The Florida-based fast-casual chain shuttered its stores as part of a “strategic renewal plan,” according to an announcement at the end of last year.

An additional 14 Poll Tropical locations were closed the same day across Florida and Texas for a total of 23.

Its possible Pollo Tropical could return to Atlanta in the future.

“We continue to be optimistic about the future of Pollo Tropical and Taco Cabana and are pleased with recent progress made on several growth initiatives that we believe should have a meaningful impact on our business,” Richard Stockinger, Fiesta's CEO, said in the announcement.
