The Ansley Mall location’s last day will be on February 26, 2020.

“We went into liquidation on Friday, Dec. 6, and everything in the store is up to 30 percent off,” a Pier 1 Ansley Mall associate shared.

The discounts will fluctuate as we get closer to closing.”

An exact closing date has not been confirmed yet for Buckhead, only that the closing is imminent and the storewide discounts of up to 30 percent have also begun.

In 2011, Pier 1 spent more than $600K to open the 11,648-square-foot store in Buckhead Place at 3232 Peachtree Road.

It was the fifth and most recent store to open inside the Perimeter.

Earlier in 2019, the Dallas, Texas-based company announced plans to close 70 stores this fiscal year with a warning that the number could swell.

During a second-quarter earnings conference call, Pier 1 interim CEO Cheryl Bachelder said, “Thus far, we’ve decided to close approximately 70 stores … and expect that number to increase as we continue the dialogue with landlords,” according to a transcript on investor news site Seeking Alpha.

The home furnishings and decor retailer, at one time, operated 967 stores.

“As far as we know, aside from us and the Buckhead location, all other area locations will remain open,” the Ansley Mall location associate shared.

  1. I don’t shop here often but this is frustrating because the Ansley Mall store was the closest to my house. My mom and I went there a few times to buy new furniture when we were rearranging our old furniture
