The Orlando-based fast-casual gourmet sandwich concept was introduced at Walt Disney World in 2004. Earl of Sandwich’s founders are John Montagu, the 11th Earl of Sandwich, his son Orlando Montagu, and Robert Earl, founder of Planet Hollywood.

Franchiser Alex Espalin of Regal Restaurants, LLC told What Now Atlanta this week that the outpost is planned to open this summer, contingent on permitting.

Earl of Sandwich has franchising plans in the US and the UK, including the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

  1. Their sandwiches are incredible! My favorite is the Holiday Turkey. I’ve made it a point when I’m at an Earl’s to get a few sandwiches to go, as the closest ones to Atlanta were in Orlando and Tampa (before Earl expanded into the Harrah’s casinos in Murphy and Cherokee, NC). To be able to get my favorite sandwiches in town is exciting news! A little pricey (about $6-7 per sandwich, all are about 6 inches long), and once they’re popular, there will be lines…but their crew is pretty good about handling big crowds with relative quickness.
