Slated to occupy Suite H of Selig’s The Shops of Buckhead center, at 2221 Peachtree Road, Peach Cobbler Bakery will sit adjacent to the already-operating Peach Cobbler Cafe, a source with first-hand knowledge of the project confirmed in a telephone conversation Friday with What Now Atlanta. Alston has not responded to requests for comment.
Earlier this week a permit was filed with the City of Atlanta to build out the new bakery. Construction on the 2,981 square-foot space is estimated at $325,000, according to the official plans.
In contrast to its cafe counterpart which serves made-from-scratch soul food, the bakery will act as a “donut and pastry shop in the front” with a “baker’s kitchen in the back.”
Before opening Peach Cobbler Cafe, Alston used to operate another restaurant in The Shops of Buckhead space called Big Al’s Gourmet Butter Made Burgers. Big Al’s closed its doors in 2020.
