Jeff Safarriyeh, owner of Safari Hospitality, named the restaurant after his late son, whose football number was 82.

Currently, the 5,500-square-foot location is undergoing remodeling, including changes to its furniture and color palette. As described by Wages, the 4403 Northside Pkwy space has two dining rooms, a large courtyard, and a water fountain. Customers will see flowers outside the restaurant’s windows as they dine.

“Have you ever kind of gotten out of New York and wanted to go sit and have lunch and you forget that the big city is all around you, and it’s just kind of a place to chill? That’s kind of what this is,” said Wages. “It’s beautiful here and you just forget that Atlanta is around the corner.”

Park 82 will serve dishes that evoke Americana, with chef Aaron James at the helm. Pizzas will be prepared in a massive oven that was flown in from Italy during Adalina’s tenure. James will dish up his signature hot honey fried chicken platter in addition to steaks, seafood, wings, and tuna tartar. Expect there to be 10 different beers on draft.

“We wanted to take the idea of food that you eat in the park, which isn’t always the most nutritious and healthy,” said Wages. “We wanted to put our spin on upscale park food almost.”

Safari Hospitality hopes to open Park 82 in late May, and expects to create 40 to 50 jobs.
