Panera filed a permit with City of Atlanta early last week for tenant finishes to a 3,900-square-foot space at the Powers Ferry Square shopping center.

Construction on the bakery-café chain’s Buckhead location will cost and estimated $443,500.00, according to the permit.

Powers Ferry Square is a 97,896-square-foot Regency Center developed for restaurant, office and retail use. Regency Centers is a national developer, owner and operator of grocery-anchored and community shopping centers offering restaurant and retail space in Atlanta and in other top markets throughout the country.

Other retail tenants there include CVS Pharmacy, Erika Reade, Roadrunner Sports and B. D. Jefferies.

St. Louis-based Panera Bread Company owns and franchises 1,467 bakery-cafes in the United States and Ontario, Canada.

  1. yeah pearl was bizarre but also pretty awesome – half art store/half weird variety shop. kind of like ace hardware – you never know what you will find.

I like this area being built up for sure, but personally, I prefer *full cup* next door for their healthier ingredients.

  2. Hasn’t Panera already saturated the north side of Atlanta? Peachtree Road, Lenox Square, Ansley Mall. Do we really need one every few miles? Their stuff isn’t that great anyway. It’s a step above fast food but their sandwiches and bagels are loaded with calories. Do we really need chains all over the north side? Are they the only ones who can afford the rents right now? Atlanta and any other big city loses its soul when it sells out to the chains like this.

  3. I thought they were not taking the space formerly occupied by Pearl. Aren’t they building a freestanding store in the parking lot? Parking has gotten to be such a hassle when shopping there.
