Sargent is planned for the Old Fourth Ward. The modern American restaurant is slated to feature elevated classics and wood-fired specialties, along with wine and cocktails. The name is an ode to artist John Singer Sargent.
The new restaurant comes from Jordan Smelt and Katie Barringer, the owners of Lucian Books and Wine, which opened in the heart of Buckhead in 2021.
The Sargent menu will feature dishes from Chef Jason Paolini, the executive chef of Lucian Books and Wine. Smelt will oversee the beverage program, and Barringer will develop a comprehensive collection of books and magazines, expanding on the book selection at Lucian Books and Wine.
Sargent will be located near 3 Parks Wine Shop at a development from New City Properties along the BeltLine. The space will be designed in collaboration with Digs Architecture & Design, a firm that also helped design Lucian Books and Wine.
Sargent is expected to open in spring 2026. Follow on Instagram @sargentatlanta for updates.
