Well, at least that’s the case if you’re the owner of Midtown’s 5th Street Ribs and Blues.
The barbecue joint, at 86 5th Street, closed its doors for good early this week, according to a sign posted on the restaurant’s front door.
“Closed. Thanks for nine great years. Gone to play golf,” according to the sign.
What Now Atlanta made several attempts via email and telephone to reach 5th Street for comment, all of which went unanswered.

I’ll really miss this place! It wasn’t the best BBQ in town, but their pulled chicken and slaw were very good. They had a good selection of beer, friendly staff, and it was a genuinely nice place to hang out and have good food.
Bummer!! They had respectable BBQ right by the office. Good thing I live 2 blocks from Fox Bros, but Bummer! They were very hard working folks
I’ll miss Nana B’s brownies…. man….
This place was a customer favorite and they will definitely be missed. Great ribs, great people! We hope they have a lovely retirement.
Food was decent, but seemed really pricey for what you got…
Looks like Walmart is coming to Tech Square…

No way, the blues use to be outstanding.
