Miller and Silva, former brewers at Three Taverns, next week will break ground on the small-scale production facility focusing on “approachable and highly drinkable small-batch brews.”

“We like to put our own spin on a variety of styles, old and new,” Miller in an email Tuesday told What Now Atlanta.

“All our beer will be brewed in-house and only available in our taproom.”

Outrun, at 5368 E Mountain Street, will be designed in such a way as to create “1980s nostalgia.”

Its name comes from the retro Outrun Sega arcade game, which along with other arcade games, will be available to play in the brewery.

“We want the brewery to look like Miami Vice meets German beer garden with plenty of neon,” Miller said.

Miller and Silva are bringing Outrun to Stone Moutain because they feel like Atlanta’s brewery game is becoming overplayed.

“Stone Mountain is starting to grow and has tons of potential,” Miller said.

“There are lots of great new shops and restaurants opening up. We just wanted to be a part of that growth and help make the city a great place to live and visit.”

The brewers-turned-entrepreneurs plan on keeping Outrun modest.

“We want to stay small and keep the focus on the quality of the beer while having also having fun with it.”
