An outdoor retailer is getting ready to open its first store in Georgia.

Sierra is expected to open in McDonough on Oct. 12, 2024. The grand opening, beginning at 8:00 a.m., will feature music from a local DJ, ticket giveaways, Sierra-branded giveaways and more.

Visitors will also be able to shop the store’s offerings. The retailer has outdoor gear, activewear and other products for men, women, children and pets.

“We are thrilled to be opening our first store in Georgia and look forward to beginning our unique shopping experience to the state and McDonough residents,” said Elisa Pouliot, assistance vice president and marketing director for Sierra. “Sierra is dedicated to encouraging an active lifestyle year-round, and our diverse range of fall gear and apparel makes it easy to take part in a range of activities from tailgating and outdoor yoga to camping.”

Sierra is part of the T.J. Maxx family of brands, which also includes Marshalls, HomeGoods and HomeSense. Sierra was founded in 1986 and now has more than 100 stores.

The nearly 20,000-square-foot location in McDonough is at 1898 Jonesboro Road, at the Henry Town Center. It will be open 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday.
