The Piedmont Heights Ansley Square bar shuttered in February “after a controversy involving racist Facebook posts” made by Burkhart’s previous owner.

McDonald and Penna closed on Burkhart’s over the weekend and plan on reopening the space in “about a month.”

“Marcos on Piedmont” and “1492” are two possible names for the revamped bar, according to additional reporting by Project Q.

The new owners will be re-introducing Drag to its entertainment lineup and are focusing on “fine food” and “everybody having fun.”
