A Naturepedic store is planned for 3167 Peachtree Road NE, according to a building permit application with the City of Atlanta.
The mattress store would be located at Buckhead Exchange, in between Sephora and The Shade Store. The space was formerly occupied by Cherry Blow Dry Bar. The estimated cost of construction on the 1,488-square-foot space is more than $75,300, according to the application.
Naturepedic began in 2003 when founder Barry Cik and his sons aimed to make a safe crib mattress that parents could trust. The brand has since added mattresses for adults and kids, along with products for other bedding needs like pillows, mattress pads and toppers, duvet covers and inserts, and bed frames. The mattresses are GOTS-certified (Global Organic Textile Standard), and they prioritize natural and allergen-safe materials.
The brand’s products can be found in several baby and home goods stores around metro Atlanta, but it appears that this will be Naturepedic’s first dedicated brick-and-mortar store in Atlanta.
Naturepedic’s first direct-to-consumer retail store opened in 2014 in Beverly Hills. The company is planning several additional retail locations this year, with the goal of having about 40 stores open by the end of the year, Forbes reports. The approach is a contrast to many other home goods companies that are opting to close their brick-and-mortar locations in favor of e-commerce.
The business is based in Chagrin Falls, Ohio.
