Offering in-office care paired with and 24/7 virtual care via its mobile and web app, the new One Medical storefront is on the ground floor of the ICON apartments, at 22 14th St NW.

Locations in The Battery Atlanta and in Buckhead are expected to open later this year, respectively, bringing One Medical’s local presence to three.

“Our primary care practice is designed to make it faster, easier, and more enjoyable for people to proactively manage their health and keep their wellness goals on track,” Mike Fité, district medical director of Atlanta for One Medical, said in a press release Monday.

“We strive to incorporate our own brand of authentic Atlanta hospitality to make folks’ experience with the doctor as comfortable and impactful as possible. Now more than ever, it’s not only important to prioritize primary care needs, but to leverage our technology to offer that same experience virtually.”

Consumer memberships are $199 per year, but increasingly One Medical is also an employee benefit sponsored by employers, who cover the membership fees for their workforce.

The membership includes 24/7/365 virtual care services through the One Medical mobile app, featuring on-demand video visits, secure provider messaging, “Treat Me Now” digital assessments for common health concerns, easy vaccine and medical record access, prescription renewals and proactive reminders for follow-up care and referral needs.

Currently, One Medical is offering complimentary access to 30-day memberships with all of these features to anyone with COVID-19 concerns, using the code GETCARE30.

The Midtown location’s primary care offerings include full lab services, mental and physical health check-ins, chronic illness management and annual wellness visits, in addition to COVID-19 PCR and antibody testing by appointment.

Most major insurance plans are accepted for in-office care. Additionally, One Medical is clinically and digitally integrated with the Emory Healthcare Network in the Atlanta area, offering seamless coordination and referrals across primary and specialty care services.

One Medical now operates more than 85 locations across eleven U.S. markets including Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Phoenix, Portland, San Diego, the San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, and Washington, D.C.

New locations are planned for Orange County, California, and Austin, Texas in addition to two more Atlanta offices. One Medical members can book appointments at any of its offices through the One Medical app, even while traveling to another One Medical city.

  1. Interesting concept.
Seems like it would be really good for folks that do a lot of traveling around the country (big cities).
Now if they could roll out an international version, that’d be great!

  2. Way more reasonable than I would’ve assumed cost-wise. Wonder if there are co-pays or costs for lab work etc.

    1. This type of model is what can save us from the insanity of the current system in which costs are guaranteed to continue spiraling out of control. Let the providers compete on price and service, and let the consumers compare and choose what fits their needs and … magic. All the prices become reasonable, and THEN we can talk about how to apply a subsidy model to help those who can’t afford the healthcare they need.

    2. I’m guessing that $199 is only paying for the convenience.
But it would be great to go to another city and be able to walk in a branch, and they already have your medical history etc on file.
I’ve got a pretty old-school Doc that I really like, and it’s the first time in my life I can say I like my Doc.
Just did a Telemed video call with him and it worked out great!
