Burritos, Sushi & Yogurt: Unite For The Fight
Help us solve this highly scientific calculation of which is greater: the number of times One Café Blanc and Yoeshi have opened and closed for business or the number of varied cuisine types offered on their menu?
Not familiar with One and Yoeshi? Thrillist Atlanta on their menu: “Pre-teen girls have long engaged in the game of cherry-picking: “Matt Damon’s body, with Brad Pitt’s face, with Rob Lowe’s sense of propriety.” Doing that, but with food, for you: One Cafe Blanc & Yoeshi.”
Located at 171 Auburn Avenue, One Café & Yoeshi opened earlier this year (story here) in the unoccupied and foreclosed Renaissance Walk Condos and Retail development in the Sweet Auburn District downtown by Georgia State University. In a grueling lease renegotiation they were forced to close and after settling have reopened as of late August.
Grace Khe, the new general manager for One Café, was hired early August for the re-opening and says the owner was fighting the new landlord to honor their original lease agreement.
Already a dying concept, the new landlord has agreed to honor their lease for ONE year. It isn’t much, but the restaurateur is moving forward with plans for long-term business that include application for a liquor license.
“We are in the process of getting our liquor license which we should have in about a week,” said Khe. Current hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. until 8 p.m., though they plan on extending those hours till midnight daily to include Sunday.
When asked about the short lease they’ve been granted, Khe says they’ll worry about that hurdle when it approaches.
What say you?– we’ve heard your opinion when we announced the opening back in January. What are your thoughts with the inclusion of this new information?
