News that the 61-year-old restaurant would shutter first surfaced late August when Old Hickory House announced it would temporarily close for renovations.

The Dunwoody Old Hickory House was one of 14 locations, according to the AJC. With the restaurant’s closure leaves just one remaining restaurant on Northlake Parkway in Tucker.

Despite attempts to reach Old Hickory for comment, it is unclear why the Atlanta mainstay has shuttered after all these years.

No word on what will open in the restaurant’s place.

  1. No more banks!!!!!! I vote for a Zaxby’s. If you agree, call their corporate office in Athens, and ask to speak with the person responsible for new restaurant site selection.

  2. The Dunwoody OHH opened in 1979. I was 14 and worked there the first six years it was open. So that would be 35 years open, not 61.

  3. Well, it appears we will have yet another bank on this property. I hear it’s a Bank of America branch. Unbelievable. City of Dunwoody officials, are you doing everything possible to promote a more diverse use of existing properties? This onslaught of banks in such a compact area is ridiculous. You should work with the property owners to attract businesses that would be more welcomed by local residents than more banks.
