The brewery has signed a letter of intent to be an anchor tenant for the 137-acre Airabella Lake Oconee development, according to an announcement.

“We are excited to partner with a business with strong ties to the Lake Oconee area and a focus on being a community gathering place,” Kevin Bryant, a partner with Airabella Lake Oconee, said in a press release.

Airabella Lake Oconee will include townhomes, single-family homes, condos, a Marriott Tribute boutique hotel, a 34-acre golf course, chef-driven restaurants, a brewery, a grocery store, and additional retail space. Construction is expected to start in 2023, with a projected 2025 completion date.

Oconee Brewing first opened in 2017, according to its website. Its current location is housed in a 6,000-square-foot former mill warehouse in Greensboro.

“We’ve become more than just this brewery that makes beer,” Taylor Lamm, co-founder and brewmaster of Oconee Brewing Company, said in the press release. “We have become part of the community, and we’re very proud of that. We couldn’t continue our growth without local support.”

Lamm couldn’t be immediately reached for additional information about the new taproom.

The announcement said that “the new location will complement the original, serving the brewery’s standard offerings while experimenting with new varieties and seasonal selections.”
