The pizzeria, at 660 Irwin Street off the beltline and near Krog Street Market, put up a sign Tuesday announcing the closure.

“We would like to thank all of you for all your support without it we would not be here,” according to the signage. “With that said, this will be the last week that we will be operating out of the Irwin Street Market.

Reddit user SmittyATL first posted the news in a feed in the Atlanta thread last night.

But O4W Pizza isn’t going away. The pizza joint is moving forward with plans to open in Old Downtown Duluth.

“We were searching for a location that would allow us to bring you a true ‘Italian American’ culinary experience and we were not willing to settle. Now in the midst of our search we came across a wonderful space that everyone will love in Old Downtown Duluth and this is where will be be.”

Old Fourth Ward or not, the pizzeria intends to keep its name.

“We will not be changing our name. Will will always remember where we came from and always pay homage by always being O4W Pizza.”

Here’s the announcement in its entirety.

  1. Jake Rothschild is a disaster of a businessman.

First he ran off Bell St Burritos, and now he does the same to o4w Pizza.

    Get a grip, dude.

    1. Anthony will verify that the last thing we wanted was for them to close. This is a decision he made with his family and has absolutely nothing to do with failure to negotiate more time or a better lease. We love him and his family and his pizza and are very sad to see him leave.

  2. Best pizza according to whom? I’ve tried them on more than one occasion… it’s average. No more, no less.

I don’t get where people think it’s so great from… Because the owner is from NY, has tattoos, and wears a beanie in the middle of summer?

In other news… another one bites the dust at Irwin St. Market. When will someone buy this shithole, raze it, and put something worth going to there???

  3. O4W in Duluth? Folks up there will think they’ll get mugged if they go there because anything about ITP is dangerous.

  4. I work just north of Downtown Duluth and can’t wait to try it! There’s a huge need for some good food around here! Welcome to the “burbs”!!
