The one-story, 6,431-square-foot building, at 946 M.L.K. Jr Dr. SW, will be replaced by a shiny new Zaxby’s restaurant.
Zaxby’s, set to be built at the site from the ground up, will have a much smaller footprint—3,652 square feet.
Demolition of the North Side Loan Office building is expected to cost $10,000 and an additional $300,000 will be spent constructing the Zaxby’s.
Real estate firm Avison Young in 2016 listed the property, that sits “just a mile west of the Georgia Dome, Phillips Arena and Centennial Olympic Park,” for lease.
It’s unclear if the land has been sold instead.
Listing Broker Patrick Arnold did not immediately return What Now Atlanta’s request for comment.

Aren’t there any decent architects in Atlanta? More crap and truly ugly designs. Why does the city approve these egregious building?
