NFA Burger is coming to Avalon in Alpharetta. It will offer counter service, indoor and outdoor seating, a bar and a walk-up window near The Plaza, according to an announcement.
Founded by Billy Kramer, NFA Burger began as a pop-up in 2018. It expanded to a Chevron gas station on Chamblee Dunwoody Road in 2019, where it remains today. It was reported in September 2024 that the award-winning business was eyeing expansion.
The concept is known for its classic smash burger, which includes two patties, pickles, American cheese, mustard and “sassy sauce” on a potato roll, as well as hot dogs, tater tots and fries. The new Alpharetta location also plans to offer milkshakes and alcoholic beverages.
NFA Burger has been dubbed “Best Burger” by Food & Wine magazine, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta Magazine, Reader’s Digest and more.
Kramer said he didn’t expect to open a location like this so soon, but he is excited about the opportunity.
“In full transparency, I thought this version of NFA would be way down the line, perhaps location #5,” he wrote. “A 3200 sq ft location was not really on my radar, but just like I did 62 months ago, I’m seizing on a great opportunity.”
The space will be available to rent for private events. It is expected to open this spring.
