Tavern pouring into Midtown mid-July to early August.
World of Beer is almost ready to start pouring its 500 bottle and 50 rotating taps selection in Midtown.
UPDATE (Sept. 24, 2014): World of Beer Midtown Opening October 8.
The Tampa, Fla.-based tavern told What Now Atlanta in an email Tuesday it is on track to open mid-July to early August, at 855 Peachtree Street.
World of Beer posted several construction progress photos to its Facebook page Monday, and submitted a building permit application to City of Atlanta for its wall sign (historically one of the last steps in a restaurant’s buildout.)
The 3,885-square-foot tavern in the Viewpoint condo building in Midtown began its buildout in February.
The chain launched in 2007 and today operates 52 taverns across the country, and has sold franchise rights for 200 more.
World of Beer joins neighbors Taco Mac, Hudson Grille and Gordon Biersch. Will the new beer-centric tavern hold its own, or drown in the nearby frothy carbonated competition? Leave your thoughts in the comments!

I am delighted., our son lives at the viewpoint, now we don’t have to go far, excited more entertainment, neighborhood fun.
Wecome….we will be happier visiting now., with each additional restaurant to feed all of us visiting Atlanta.
The Vortex Bar & Grill would like to welcome World of Beer to the neighborhood. We have been in our current location on Peachtree Street since 1997. This area was a little “rough” back then, but with each new business that opens, the neighborhood just keeps getting better and better. The best of luck to you!
