The bakery is the vision of Shellane Brown, who recently won the Food Network show Halloween Wars and created a life-size confection of the likeness of The Rock for the Discovery Channel competition Cakealikes. She has been heralded as a “cake boss” for her expert cake design and development.

“Shellane has been honing her passion for baking all her life, including starting her first business, Apple-Butter Bakery in 2009 in Stone Mountain, Ga,” said Rob Parker, president of Trilith. “Since then, she has established herself within the pastry industry by winning and judging various Food Network and Discovery Channel competitions. She brings a variety of creativity and art to her work, and we’re excited to have Woodstone Bakery & Café in our Town Centre.”

The Black-owned business features new takes on nostalgic desserts. Customers can expect a menu featuring decadent and highly-designed custom cakes, a variety of cupcakes, pies and pastries, and charcuterie. Her husband, Daniel Brown, the mastermind behind Gilly Brew Bar in Stone Mountain, Ga., will offer specialty beverages including coffees and creative elixirs. The bakery’s name comes from the Lithonia street where Shellane grew up.

“After hearing the vision for Trilith, Daniel and I were confident that this was the community for us to live and work,” said Shellane Brown. “We’ve formed a special bond with our Stone Mountain community and we look forward to doing the same with our new Fayetteville neighbors. We’ve been blown away by the support we’ve received thus far.”

In addition to Woodstone Bakery & Café, Trilith Town Centre features the following establishments: The Piedmont Wellness Center, Honeysuckle Gelato, Barleygarden Kitchen and Craft Bar, Hop City, Leyland Blue, Amici Italian Café, The Funky Shack, The Concierge by Edwin Jarvis and Green p.s. Other announced merchants include Native Collective, The Skin Society, Sugarcoat, Premiere Hair Studio, Sensu Sushi Bar & Restaurant, Archer Paper Goods and a luxury movie theatre. The town is also home to The Forest School, a K-12 micro school with a story arts focus and learner-driven technology.

Trilith is an award-winning, master-planned community located adjacent to Trilith Studios, the second largest film and television studio in North America and home to blockbuster films and shows such as Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: Homecoming and WandaVision.
