New Village Coming to Dunwoody

David Abes of DASH Hospitality Group wants to make Dunwoody Village a true hangout spot for the local community. 

“Roswell, Alpharetta, Woodstock, and Duluth, all of the small towns have entertainment areas, but Dunwoody doesn’t,” he said. 

Until now. The Village in Dunwoody, a project he’s been working on for over two years, is getting ready to open this September. It will be a collection of diverse experiences to create a city center in town.

“We will have this outdoor courtyard that will have all these different concepts, including an outdoor screen for moving nights, a stage-area for music, and room for art festivals,” Abes said. 

The Village will have a courtyard, which will be complete with outdoor seating, live music in the evenings, farmers markets, beer festivals, fashion shows, and more.

The first phase of the opening will be the courtyard and Bar(n), a whiskey, craft beer, and wine bar. The second and third phases will open four more restaurants, including Morty’s Meat & Supply, Cuco’s Cantina, Yoffi, and Message In A Bottle.

Bar(n) will feature an indoor and outdoor bar with a menu that includes charcuterie, small plates, and light bites. On Saturday and Sunday during the day, Bar(n) will serve coffee and pastries.

“There’s no place in Dunwoody for a girl’s night out,” Abes said. “We want to be a hangout kind of spot.” 

The Barn, which will also host wine tastings and whiskey tastings, will open in mid-September along with the courtyard. 

Between the five restaurants and courtyard, The Village has 10,000 square feet inside and 20,000 square feet outside to play with. The overall cost of the project is expected to be $3 million.

“It’s been a labor of love, COVID changed some concepts and added some technology to make drinks and food more convenient,” he said. 

He can’t wait to give Dunwoody something to celebrate. 

“We’ll start doing Christmas tree lighting, watch college football outside, and just want to be as community-focused as possible,” Abes said.
