Shoshin is planned for 99 W Paces Ferry Road NW, according to a building permit application with the City of Atlanta. It appears that the restaurant would be going into a ground-floor space at 99 West Paces, a luxury apartment community.

Castellucci Hospitality Group is listed as the owner of the restaurant. Their Atlanta-area restaurant portfolio includes Mujō and Cooks & Soldiers at the Westside Provisions District, The Iberian Pig in Buckhead Village and Decatur, Sugo in Johns Creek and Double Zero in Emory Village. CHG also has restaurants in Nashville.

According to the application documents for Shoshin, the estimated cost of construction on the 4,320-square-foot restaurant is $1.8 million. The scope of work includes a steel-framed 744-square-foot mezzanine above the kitchen; new interior partitions; new finishes, furniture and fixtures; and mechanical, electrical and plumbing work. The existing single storefront door will be replaced with a “different opaque style wood entry door.”

Construction documents indicate plans for a cocktail bar, a private dining area, and a section for omakase, a Japanese-style chef-guided dining experience.

The architectural and design firm working on the project is listed as Smith Hanes Studio, also the team behind several notable Atlanta restaurants like Little Sparrow, Carmel, The Optimist and more.
