The new concept, called Rosa, is planned for the former DBA Barbecue space at 1190 North Highland Avenue.
Ownership for Rosa told What Now Atlanta that the restaurant will be a “neighborhood Mexican spot,” but no further information about the menu was made known at this time. They are targeting an early 2025 opening.
Rosa Atlanta LLC was created in July 2024, according to a filing with the Georgia Secretary of State’s office. A liquor license application for the restaurant indicates plans to be open 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The more than 5,200-square-foot restaurant is expected to have seating for 125 people.
DBA Barbecue closed at the North Highland Avenue space in February 2024 after 15 years. Owner Matt Coggin said at the time that he decided not to renew the lease at the location, allowing him to focus on the restaurant’s other fast-casual formats and to expand the brand’s catering services.
This article will be updated when we learn more information about Rosa.
