Skinship is opening soon in Buckhead at 480 East Paces Ferry Road. The clinic aims to blend science-backed treatments with a spa-like experience, providing personalized treatments for a variety of ages, skin tones and skin types.
Skinship was founded by Danielle Harris and Kayla Walker, college friends who bring comprehensive knowledge in health and science to the brand, with Harris having 10 years of experience in health tech and Walker having a background in surgery.
“Skinship was a shared vision of Kayla and mine for a medical aesthetics clinic that blended the clinical expertise that you can get within a physician or a doctors office but with more of the personalized and approachable experience you get from visiting a spa,” Harris told What Now Atlanta.
The name of the brand comes from the Japanese term that refers to bonding through skin-to-skin contact. Skinship will offer a variety of treatments, including botox, dermal fillers, microneedling, chemical peels, acne injections and more. A curated selection of medical-grade skincare products will also be available for purchase.
Regardless of the treatment you’re seeking at Skinship, they aim to cut out the noise and create an accessible and personalized experience.
“People can feel really intimidated by aesthetics and skincare,” Walker told What Now Atlanta. “There’s information coming at you from every different direction. On the internet, there’s a million people telling you what you need or what you have to do, and that’s not necessarily the case. We recommend actually meeting with one of our board-certified providers that can go over what your concerns and goals are and actually evaluate you and your skin and determine what treatment plan is best for you. This doesn’t have to be a million steps. It’s about what fits into your routine and what makes sense for you.”
Consultations are available for those who are brand new and don’t know where to start. On the other end of the spectrum, skin care aficionados can learn about treatments or products that can take their routine to the next level.
At Skinship, it’s about meeting patients where they’re at.
“Are you going to take the time to use three products in the morning, or do you need a routine that can be 30 seconds?” Harris said. “It’s about making it more approachable for people, meeting them where they are and making sure we’re building a routine and treatment plan that is accessible for them, and being transparent and authentic about it too.”
In addition to clinically proven treatments backed by science and a personalized approach, another component that was important for them when shaping the brand was helping cultivate and encourage a natural, subtle aesthetic.
“Our approach is to make people look like the best version of themselves, not like someone else, to really give a subtle look that builds confidence and empowers you without looking different,” Walker said.
Harris said that while they hope to expand in the future, Buckhead is a perfect place for their flagship location, given the neighborhood’s status as a destination for luxury and wellness, as well as its convenience for both the northern suburbs of Atlanta as well as Downtown and Midtown.
