A new Thai bar called Some Luck is planned for Atlanta’s Poncey-Highland neighborhood, Rough Draft Atlanta first reported. Some Luck will feature cocktails and beer along with Thai-inspired bar bites and street foods like wings, soups and more. It will serve lunch and dinner, as well as a late-night menu.

The concept comes from Parnass Savang and Rod Lassiter, the owners of Talat Market. The restaurant that melds classic Thai ingredients and techniques with Georgia produce began as a pop-up before opening a brick-and-mortar location in the Summerhill neighborhood in 2020.

Talat Market was on the Atlanta Magazine “Best New Restaurants” list in 2021, and Savang and Lassiter were included among the “Best New Chefs” in 2020. Savang was a semifinalist for the James Beard Rising Star Chef of the Year in 2018.

Some Luck will be located in the former Highland Inn Ballroom Lounge space at what is now Otto’s Apartment Hotel. As for the aesthetic, expect pops of color and greenery from plants, while paying homage to many design elements from the Ballroom Lounge.

Lassiter told What Now Atlanta that Some Luck is expected to open in late spring or early summer 2025.
