Swirll Frozen Yogurt to launch Atlanta market in Buckhead

Atlanta’s getting more yogurt. Look, we’re just as surprised as you.

Spelled with double “L’s” for added grammatical confusion, Swirll Frozen Yogurt will open their first Georgia location in Buckhead at the Roswell-Wieuca Shopping Center.

Located at 4365 Roswell Road NE, Swirll filed a building permit with the city for “Tenant finishes” last week.

Based in Houston Texas, Swirll has seven locations in total, six in Texas and one in Louisiana. Georgia will be the third state for the brand and the eighth location.

And as if the yogurt options weren’t already endless in Atlanta, Swirll claims to be different, a “new taste sensation,” if you will. From their mission statement:

“We provide the ultimate yogurt experience by providing an innovative and exciting self-service concept that includes a minimum of 14 different frozen yogurt flavors.”

Gee, that’s new!

“Add to this an expansive topping bar which has a minimum of 30 different and rotating toppings including fresh seasonal fruits, assorted dry toppings such as granola, cereal products, nuts and a variety of flavored mochi which is a Japanese delicacy which beautifully compliments frozen yogurt.”

Wow! How innovative: a toppings bar. Who woulda thunk it?

Anyone else fed up with the “variety” of seemingly similar frozen yogurt concepts. We did a side-by-side comparison of Yogurtland and Yogli Mogli here. The similarities are unbelievable.

So who will the market weed out or will the Starbucks model of one location on every corner work for yogurt in Atlanta?– tell us!

  1. Like I’ve said before, 99% of all yogurt businesses are the same and use the same suppliers but its the experience and customer service that make the difference. For example, I have visited all of these joints and I still prefer the new concept we have in Columbus. CHILL has such a great vibe and they have the best-of-the-best when it comes to toppings and flavors. If they don’t have it, they’ll get it for you or at least consider it. Just a thought, but I do agree… Give it some time and all of these extra concepts will need to be weeded out. Good luck to everybody out there trying!

  2. Minor correction, but the there are 6 locations in TX and 1 in Lafayette LA, not Los Angeles. It’s easy to get LA the city & LA the state mixed up though. 🙂

  3. I wonder how long till the reports start coming in about all the closings due to the crash of the yogurt crazy? With all these openings you would think Midtown would get one.

  4. Are these people stupid? Why keep opening in Buckhead when there is no yogurt place within walking distance in Midtown! All these empty retail spaces on Peachtree you would think one would be perfect for a yogurt place!

  5. Ive been to this location, love the vibe, and i actually enjoy the freakishly large variety of stuff there. they have the marshmallows from lucky charms as a topping!! just the marshmallows!!! i lost my shit that day,lol
