Alabama-based Prevail Coffee Roasters is debuting a new brick and mortar coffee shop right here in Atlanta. The business will be opening on the bottom floor of West Midtown’s newly-opened Star Metals Residences, at 1050 Howell Mill Road. While those who live there will be the first to wake up to that freshly brewed coffee smell, the shop will be open to the public as well. Co-Founder Wade Preston has not yet given a statement to What Now Atlanta about the opening of his shop.

Preston first opened up shop in Auburn, Alabama under the name Prevail Union, originally branded Wake Up Coffee Company. Since then, the company has grown into its own brand of wholesale specialty coffee roasted by Preston himself and his team. We don’t know for certain if the new shop will use its original Prevail Union name or something else entirely.

While an exact date of Prevail’s opening isn’t known at this time, it will be opening as part of Phase 1 of Star Metals Residence with a target date of sometime in October, according to Spencer Morris, executive vice president of Star Metals developer The Allen Morris Company. At that time, Star Metals Residence will encompass 186 residential units and soon, an expansion of 223 more apartments. This later phase will introduce other shops and amenities, many of which will be announced in two to three months, Morris said. Prevail will be the first tenant when Star Metals Residence officially opens up next month.
